We believe in inspiring choices to create the life story you want to leave behind.

We are a small start-up with a big family feel, we are big on our values and believe in a healthy organisation. Challenging ourselves every day to be the best we can be for one another, so we can succeed together. As a team we stretch far and wide, from Norwich to Nettuno in Italy where Olab our fabulous developers are, Long Eaton to London respectively where you’ll find some of the team and GivenLondon our amazing design agency. We work wherever we need to be and in whichever time zone, we know that communication is incredibly important and we are passionate about collaboration.

The huunuu pipedream has been around for many years and in July 2014 Co-Founders Clare and Steve Turner finally incorporated huunuu. It all started when Clare attended her first funeral at age 13, the funeral of her best friend’s father.

During the next 15 years there were several more funerals. Then, sadly, Clare was to attend the funeral of this same best friend’s Mother. At this time Clare considered herself to have six parents in total, a mother and father who were remarried, a mother and father in law, and yet her close friend had none!

At every funeral, each time the lack of understanding and communication, the family disagreements, the wake grumbles and giggles and the lack of choice made Clare think, there must be a better way.

Then in 2010 she lost her step-father to heart failure; she was present and tried to resuscitate him unsuccessfully. With yet more first-hand experience it was at this point she realised that the crucial conversations about how you live your life or commemorate your death need to happen at a different time.

Our society creates the taboo that death should be shrouded in mystery and sorrow and that we should do what the Victorians did...well not anymore.

In December 2015 the first tentative steps were taken to start the huunuu story. Along the way there have been many people who have challenged, supported and believed in us to get to this point.

That support and belief keeps us motivated. When it comes to dying, live a little, start talking and sharing with the people most important to you. Use huunuu to help create those crucial conversations and enjoy some of the most amazing and inspiring businesses from around the world that we have brought into one place.

One day you too will bite the dust,
Breathe your last, meet your maker.
The rockstars, the rickshaw drivers, the drifters and deep-sea divers,
One day we all up and die.
Maybe we’d worry a little less about the future,
If we all remembered this one simple fact,
When you cash in your chips, or turn up your toes,
When your number is up...
How do you want to be remembered?
Because though you can’t live forever, you can create something that will,
So when it comes to dying - Live a little.
Whether you want to put the fun back into funeral,
Or go west with a hymn from the heart,
Make your ending your own.
And when you have embraced the inevitable,
All you really need to fear is a life unlived.
So love life or die trying, but whatever you do, explore, inspire, plan and share to make sure it’s a story that is uniquely yours to tell.
