The core mission of huunuu is to start those all important crucial conversations about what people want to get out of life and how they want to be celebrated when they die.
But there is a huge group of people that don’t seem to get nearly as much praise as they deserve. These people work for the NHS and, in our eyes, they are all heros.
The NHS was launched in 1948 and brought together doctors, nurses, dentists and opticians under one organisation with the aim to bring free healthcare to the British public.
Seventy years later we’re still lucky enough to have the NHS and access to all the wonderful, hard-working staff. It’s an institution of it’s very own kind, bringing an end to diseases such as polio and diphtheria, as well as introducing life-saving innovations such as liver, heart and lung transplants!
This got us thinking...from admin assistants to surgeons there are over 1.5 million NHS staff from all over the globe, from all walks of life. That means the NHS would be nothing without its dedicated volunteers and paid staff - they all play an integral role in everyone’s lives.
The NHS also isn’t afraid to encourage people to talk about death, as well as living their lives to the fullest. Whether they’re campaigning for people to discuss their mental health or they’re offering dignified end of life care, the NHS helps everyone be more open about normally taboo subjects.
That’s why our luxury French Manoir holiday is only open to NHS staff - so if you or someone you know is, or was, working or volunteering for the NHS then please encourage them to enter.
